4 Aug 2010 Before I continue I need to tell you that I'm not recommending that you perform this hack on your own vehicle. It disables a part of the safety interlock that prevents you from accidentally shifting out of Park. I personally don't have a problem with that because I'm an Old Guy that grew up without those damned
3 Mar 2011 The problems with these transmissions can be caused form not being used.. its not someting were if you dont use it it wont wear out It works off the same principle as the brake system calipers.

I hate to beat a dead horse, but I have been unable to find a thread about my specific year. I have a 2007 F-150 4x4 Lariat. Occasionally I am unable to move the shifter out of park. The shifter is located in the center console and has the trigger-like button. I have asked the Ford dealer about this and was told
21 Jun 2014 I have a 5 speed manual transmission in a 1997 Ford f150 that is stuck in first gear and will not shift into any other gear including neutral. It would be your gear linkage that is the issue and you would have to drop your transmission to access it. You can pull up to a stop sign and it will slip in 1st gear.

I appreciate you looking into it though, when the battery is totally dead the only option you have is to remove the linkage and manually shift it into neutral
